Pine Wood Derby 4/14/2011

The Homeless Families Foundation Dowd Education Center hosted its Annual Pine Car Derby. The Center's Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, and staff all built and raced their cars while families cheered them on. Everyone had fun during the race and afterwards enjoyed a family style dinner and swapped stories.

A Dear Friend

It is with great sadness that I share with you that Nancy Young, our Board secretary, devoted Trustee and friend of HFF, passed away yesterday at her home. Her obituary is in today’s paper. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to HFF. I know you will join me in prayers for her family. Nancy’s unique personality and love of life will be missed. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dispatch/obituary.aspx?n=nancy-belville-young&pid=150279054&fhid=6004

Food Boxes....

On Sunday, March 13th we received 400 food boxes from our friends at St Joan of Ark church to help benefit The Homeless Families Foundation....We had over 25 volunteers here to help with the project....Thank you so much to everyone who participated. It is only through community support that we can continue our mission. To provide shelter, support, stability and nurturing to homeless children and their families as they prepare to acquire permanent housing.
